In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been in my own business for more than 20 years. I come from experience and practical thoughts on business, marketing, and how to be efficient in your business.

I have been using PowerPoint for many years.
I am a published author, "31 Tips to becoming an Effective Presenter," in which I have added 2 tips on specifically for PowerPoint. I'm in writing a book specifically for PowerPoint users called, "31 PowerPoint Tips for Effective PowerPoint Presentations."
Of course, we can be very creative with myriad of font styles and colors, slide transitions and slide animations. We can add bells and whistles, elaborate animations, charts and much more.
I can teach you these skills, but more importantly, I will show you to use them in moderation. The key to effective PowerPoint presentations is NOT rely on gizmos, but to rely on your speaking skills and to "enhance" your presentations with PowerPoint.
Communication and public speaking skills are essential in being hired, yet fewer schools have the resources to coach or teach public speaking or presentation skills.
I have been teaching and giving workshops at Cypress College and other venues for more than 5 years. Now I have a 5-module program to teach and train students in becoming a Spotlight Presente. The topics covered are:
1. Feel Comfortable and Be Confident when Speaking in Public
2. Speaking from your Heart
3. Preparing with your Mind (speech organization, gestures, voice variety and more)
4. Enhancing your PowerPoint Presentations
5. Be a Spotlight Presenter
In addition, I was the Rotary District Speech Contest Chair for several years and I've been honored to be a speech contest judge for Rotary, Lions, Optimists, and the Future Farmers of America.
