University of California, Berkeley (English Literature)
I have experience managing people, training and organizing curriculum. I want to extend this into individualized 1-on-1 meetings with progressing students who need help getting over the edge of today's academic hurdles.
I have a passion for reading and writing, and love all things English or Humanities related. It would be a rewarding experience to use my education to help further the education of today's future.
I am a English degree graduate from the top English department program in the nation; UC Berkeley. I have been reading, editing and writing since I was 11 years old and have played a big hand in prepping my nieces and nephews (15 of them!) for all their school projects, essays, papers and speeches.
I have outstanding references for resume writing and structure. I am currently taking classes part-time so I am very adept in note taking, outlines of information and methods to retain information. I have been a marketing professional for 10 years. I have vast experience in sales, marketing, career building and career improvement.
I've worked for one of the largest athletic brands in the nation as a project manager with oversight to all global marketing campaigns. Intimately involved with strategy, planning, research and objectives.
I've danced ballet for close to 14 years and am currently training in ballet classes. My active involvement helps me assist younger students with helping point, turnout, stretching, turns, extensions and jumps.
I've a very laid-back, smart and down-to-earth tutor. I will try to make it fun or at least laugh some while learning which I think is the key to getting past hard subjects you need help with! I also have a huge music fan and like to make my lesson plans interactive when possible so there is more to learn from the course material. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from college with a B.S. in English Literature. And I currently take courses, so I'm active with my skill set.
