Hmm, where to start? My name is Chris and I’m relatively new to the WyzAnt family. I have a well-established career working as an organic chemist and love every minute of it. Basically my job is to create new medications by following the fundamental principles of organic chemistry. With all the success I have achieved in my career, I now want to “give-back” and help students struggling in the field of chemistry. Who knows, I might even be able to convert a student or two into future scientists.
A brief bio:
I graduated high school with a 4.18 GPA and attended the University of Nebraska on a full-tuition academic scholarship. It’s here where my enthusiasm for chemistry first began. After graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry (3.95 GPA) and receiving an accolade of chemistry-related awards, I then earned a M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (3.80 GPA). I have worked full-time as an organic chemist for the past ten years, authored multiple chemistry-related papers/patents, and presented my research at numerous scientific venues.
What separates me from other chemistry tutors is my real world experience. I live-and-breathe chemistry 40 hrs/week in a lab and am very passionate about it. Whereas other tutors teach multiple subject areas and have only a theoretical working knowledge of chemistry, I can use my own personal experiences to better explain why atoms behave the way they do.

My son was very happy with his tutoring lesson! He said that Chris is one of the best Chemistry tutors he's worked with. Thank you Chris!
Chris helped me with elimination and substitution mechanisms. I feel more confident after only one lesson. He was patient and helpful
Had our first session with Chris and as per my daughter he was excellent communicating concepts with her and helping her have hope that with his help she will tackle Honors Chem with flying colors. We are looking forward to his continued help! Personable and highly articulate from this mom's standpoint! Thanks Chris!!!
Chris was able to help me review for my final in one session. We went over all the trouble spots on my study guides, and he wouldn't let me move on until I could explain back to him the main idea the question was testing. He was really easy to understand.
We reviewed for my honors chemistry final. He was easy to talk to and ask questions. He made sure I understood the material.
My son could not stop talking about how much he learned from his tutoring session with Chris. After Chris left our home, my son said he wished he had been working with Chris all along. We highly recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for a Chemistry tutor!
Chris is helping me prepare for my final organic chemistry exam. He is very patient and well spoken. He explains concepts I am struggling with very clearly, and has been very helpful with my homework.
Chris helped me prepare for my upcoming organic chemistry exam. He went at my pace and walked me through anything I did not understand!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received an A.C.S.-certified B.S. degree in Chemistry, which consisted of two semesters basic organic chemistry and two semesters advanced organic chemistry. In addition, I earned a M.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in which my thesis project was heavily involved in organic synthesis. Furthermore, I have worked as an organic chemist for the past seven years and am very passionate about it. I have authored several publications relating to this subject matter and have daily discussions about it with my coworkers. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you my qualifications should you have any questions.
