Orange Coast College (International Relati)
Temple University Japan (Enrolled)
My name is Christian and I am currently a full time student at Orange Coast College located in Costa Mesa California. I am bilingual in English and Japanese, moreover; am currently majoring in International Relations. In the future, I would like to do business overseas in Japan and will be transferring to Keio University located in Japan this Fall 2009. As a student, I have found that school at certain times can feel very overwhelming, however; is possible not only to complete, but to do well in if one makes a conscious decision to succeed. Having the ability to understand that the choices I make everyday effects the outcome of my future has empowered me not only to maintain a 3.8 GPA, but to be a member of the Honors Program offered at Orange Coast College. In the past, I have tutored students on a wide variety of subjects raging from Math all the way to Japanese and have discovered that often times students in school try to apply the same learning techniques to different subjects. A common error that when put simply, can not be done. Many people do not realize that different parts of the brain are used for different things. To compensate, as a tutor, I teach "different" subjects differently. This helps the recipient gain a deeper understanding of the learned material and enables them to retain the information for a longer period of time. In the future I look forward to sharing my methods with future students and hope to be contacted for further information. Hello,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
