I tutor adults and children who are beginner-advanced levels of English proficiency. The classes are designed to fit individual requirements. We can work together to define your needs and create a program to reach your short or long term goals, incorporating reading comprehension, writing, grammar, conversation/pronunciation, and listening skills.
I have taught beginning through intermediate level general English classes at Education First International Language School in San Francisco, as well as designing and implementing the curriculum for adult reading/writing, conversation/pronunciation, TOEFL prep, UP academic writing, grammar, and study skills classes. The classes have been comprised of adult students from all over the world who have chosen to learn English for a variety of purposes including, business, travel, education, and pleasure. In addition, I have coached English at HULT International Business School, and have been tutoring and working with small groups of students for the past six years.
In 2013, I designed and taught a 2 week workshop at Kyungpook National University in Daegu, South Korea. The students were highly skilled, award winning, elementary school English teachers from Daegu, South Korea, who had been chosen for this 180 hour program as part of their continuing education. It was a very challenging and rewarding experience to work with this great group of teachers.
I have been working with many children who are beginning school in the U.S. and need help catching up on their English skills as well as working with their parents. I'm very patient, devise creative lessons, and inspire a love of books and learning. More recently, I have been teaching and tutoring at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, working with many international students predominantly from China and South Korea.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an MA TESL from the University of San Francisco, hold a BA in Art Education and have several years adult ESL teaching experience.
