I'm Andrew, and I am a 4th year Plant Biology major at UC Riverside. During my studies, I took Education classes with field work in a chemistry classroom at a local high school and a biology class at a local middle school. Although I chose to do pursue research and plan to do grad school, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching, and I want to help students enjoy learning.

Studying Plant Biology entails studying biology and to understand botany. The concepts learned in biology are applied over and over in my studies. The concepts in biology are applied often in many other fields, therefore understanding biology will make your subsequent studies easier. In addition, my previous experience in research offers unique insights into plant systems as well as careers in botany.
I am a native Spanish speaker, and I constantly try to improve my Spanish. I also am learning a new language (German), and I understand the difficulties and frustrations that come with learning a new language. Spanish is no exception to these frustrations (ser vs estar, preterit vs imperfect etc.), and I will do my best to convey their meanings and uses. And although grammar is important to learn, I want students to be comfortable with speaking Spanish more than "textbook" Spanish. Speaking is a cornerstone of communication, and it will be the main avenue of application for your Spanish skills.
As said before, I want to help students enjoy learning. I will always be open to suggestions and questions to improve my lessons, and your learning experience. I hope to hear from you!
