I am a retired teacher of 36 years of teaching. Most of my teaching experience has been in first grade. I am experienced in teaching reading skills. I can help students with prereading skills, phonics, and phonemic awareness. I am experienced in intervention strategies which will help your child become a successful reader. I am also experienced in teaching common core standards.
I can travel to students. My base rate is $50/hour for in person lessons. I am available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm during the summer. My hours will change when the regular school year begins in August. I will be available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Tuesdays during the regular school year.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
