I am an efficient and effective student, having earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology a full year in advance with honors (top 10%) from the University of California Riverside. I have experience teaching both children and adults in various subjects, including but not limited to: university level papers (both research and general education), martial arts, English, math (prealgebra, algebra, and geometry), statistics and Chinese (Mandarin). I also have professional work experience to back up specific subject areas, such as my 1 year contract doing translations with a small travel agency.

My goal is to help students reach their academic aspirations and pass on a skill set that would allow them to teach themselves in all of their subjects of interest later on. My instruction and support will go beyond the scheduled session. I will edit short papers free of charge. If feasible, I will also explain short math questions over the phone or scan and deliver a written explanation.

I was an intern at an educational therapy center while I was in college. During my internship there I taught reading, social skills, math, and spelling to kids ranging from the 2nd to 6th grade. The kids had impairments ranging from ADHD, autism, to Bipolar Disorder. After my internship expired I was offered a part time job based on my performance.

Study Skills

I earned my undergraduate degree with honors a year in advance while working up to 40 hours a week as a research assistant. Throughout my experience I learned that traditional study skills are not entirely efficient. With my help I can help your child become a more efficient student and help them attain the grades they desire with less effort.
