About Peter

I have a Ph.D. in Physics, University of North Texas and a Physics Postdoc at Univeristy of British Columbia, Canada.

I graduated in physics PHD in 2004! I have worked in University for many years and have a great experience in teaching college students. I am also a MATH COUNTS tutor for Middle school students and Olympiad tutor for high school students. I have tutor experience for 6 years. My best student enrolled USA Physics Olympiad Finalist (Top 20 in America). Physics is my main specialty for tutoring; I can also tutor Algebra, Calculus and some additional topics including Geometry, Trigonometry, SAT / ACT Math and so on. I help students to do homework too.

Throughout my experience, I have enjoyed working with students. I enjoyed helping them work through analysis and problem-solving. Tutoring is my passion and I love to help students succeed in their class.

It is my honor to help you. I can meet whenever you need 24/7. I look forward to working with you and ensuring your academic success!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I have been tutoring ACT math for high school students for two years.

Algebra 1

Most of my experience as a tutor has been centered on the topics encountered in this subject. I believe a sturdy base of comprehension of it will be fundamental to all students who seek a university education.

Algebra 2

When tutoring algebra, pre-algebra, algebra II, I can explain to students very clear, they can understand the main points very fast.

Calculus

I have been tutoring many high school and college students in calculus, pre-calculus, AP calculus. I help students with their homework assignments and explain the material as we go through it. They all made big improvement in the test.

Differential Equations

I am theoretical physics PhD. Differential equations are my regular tools in my research. I am very good in solving all kinds of differential equations.

Geometry

The key to focus a student's comprehension is to inspire them with examples. I like to give students concrete examples of the utility of the techniques, show them why proving certain ideas is very important.

Linear Algebra

I have a Bachelor, master and PHD of Science in Physics. Furthermore, in my previous work as a research assistant , I had to use linear algebra for coursework and basic models.

Physics

Physics is my favorite subject forever. I got my bachelor degree in physics. Then master degree in physics and PHD in physics too. I worked in several universities in doing physics research for couple of years, and also taught students physics and math as TA when I worked in universities. I have tutored college and high school students for both physics and AP physics in past years, they all got high grades in class.

Prealgebra

Many students need help in topics such as order of operations, using fractions and the coordinate system. When tutoring this subject, I try to focus on the different skills needed in algebra and help students understand these topics very well.

Precalculus

Pre-calculus covers a variety of topics important in higher math and in the sciences. I am confident that I can help the students excel in this subject.

SAT Math

For the students who are new to the topics, I am very familiar how to help them to get main points of this subject. Most of my SAT math tutor topics have been related to those covered in this test. I will provide greater supply of context in order to facilitate students comprehension and ensure their success.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is the bridge between algebra and calculus. I used my trigonometry knowledge to help students a lot.

Great Physics (electricity & magnetism) Tutor!

Peter is hands down the best physics tutor I have ever had. Electricity & magnetism is a very hard subject, however, Peter is incredibly knowledgeable and solves/explains physics problems with ease. Make sure to text him pictures of your problems before meeting, and you will definitely get your moneys worth for the time spent with him. Do not waste your time going to anyone else.
