As a mother of five children ages 10-16, I am fully able to tutor and help students achieve academically. I graduated from Dartmouth College, in New Hampshire, with B.A. degree in French and Spanish. And I also maintain a CA Clear Credential which allows me to teach grades K-12 and adults.
In addition, I have been homeschooling our five children for the past 5 years. I am confident that my students will increase their skills and knowledge especially in a private tutoring session. Very patient and easy to work with. 5 STARS!
Audrienne has been tutoring my daughter for over 3 months. When my daughter started school she was having such a hard time. Her self esteem was low and she was putting herself down because she wasn't understanding the new Common Core Curriculum. We first tried Sylvan, its well known and I knew my daughter would excel, But she didn't. They did not offer a one on one approach, she worked on an IPAD just answering questions and did not have the same tutor for every session. I was looking for a more personal approach. After talking to several tutors we meet Audrienne. She makes the sessions fun and I can tell she really cares about my daughter. We have now saw a jump in my daughters grades and its all to Audrienne. I plan on having her tutor my daughter indefinitely. Not only did she help her catch up but shes helping her to not fall behind. Best money spent......
I really love the way Audrienne works with my son who is 7. Her skills and tactics are outstanding and to just watch my son interact with her with his English studies is AWESOME. I say this because my son has been in the Spanish Immersion program since Kindergarten and his teacher said his English is not so great, but after watching him with Audrienne I can see he does understand more then what the teacher thinks. My hats off to you Audrienne.
Thanks from a mom that didn't know what to do.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am writing to submit my qualifications for tutoring Elementary K-6th all subjects.
I hold and maintain a current California clear multiple subject teaching credential that authorizes me to teach all subjects in grades K-6.
I have successfully taught full-time 30 4th graders at the elementary level for three years and 6th graders at the junior high level for four years. I taught all the core subjects at the elementary level and math/science/reading at the junior high level.
Thank you for your consideration!
It is evident from my background and B.A. degree in French and Spanish (from Dartmouth College) that I have the qualifications to be an excellent ESL teacher. During my college years, I spent over 6 months in different foreign countries studying both the language and the culture. Additionally, I have lived in Jamaica, West Indies for ten years. Thus, I consider myself to be an international individual.
As a California credential educator, I have had several experiences teaching ESL. I taught ESL at a Japanese school in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA for over a year and a half. In this capacity, I utilized a variety of teaching techniques such as oral dictations, phonics, vocabulary building, role playing, songs and TPR to facilitate foreign language learning. Also, I have had over two years of experience teaching English Language Learners at a junior high school in Carson, CA using a variety of SDAIE Methods.
With a strong foreign language background and extensive overseas living experiences, I believe that I possess unique qualifications and credentials to be an excellent ESL Tutor.
