The trouble with learning is that it requires desire. In my life I have found that the best way to learn about something is to want to learn about it, and by finding what works best for each person individually. Not everyone learns in the same way, some may like quite focused study time, while others prefer to have music playing while they study, neither is right or wrong as long as the information is retained, and understood on a critical level. My first step when meeting a new student is to figure out the best way to awaken their desire to learn about a subject, so that the process is enjoyable and everything they learn sticks.
I have a Master's degree from Trinity College in Dublin Ireland focusing on film Theory, History, and Practice, which grants me not only an expansive knowledge on the arts of film production and technology, but also Film Criticism, which has over laps with Literary Criticism and Literature studies. In addition, I have been working as a filmmaker for 5 years, and have had my work screened in both the U.S. and Ireland. My undergraduate degree was in History with minors in Film Studies and Drama, with theatre experience stretching over 10 years. I first began teaching theatre and acting 7 years ago, and have taught workshops in the U.S. and Ireland to students ranging in age from four to 56. I have also taught public speaking, and I'm qualified to assist in History studies thanks to my bachelors degree. Hello!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
From kindergarten until I achieved my Bachelors degree I was schooled in a private Christian school system. As a result I took courses in Bible Studies and Religion every year, and was consistently at the top of my class. In addition, my father, my uncle, and both my grandfathers are ministers which adds to the knowledge I gained growing up.
