Hello, I am a newly graduated college student from UC Davis. I double-majored in psychology and economics. Throughout my 16 years education journey, I have truly learned that teaching/helping out peers is one of the best ways to solidify the course materials yourself. That is why I have excelled at courses at Davis when there is a heavy emphasis on class/discussion participation.

I have tutored my many friends throughout high school and college and have a little over a year of experience working as a tutor in highs schools and elementary schools. I love helping out younger students on academic problems that they are facing because I know somewhere down the line in their education journey they will run into bumps. By ironing out the issues now and helping them build a strong foundation as well as the ability to identify what's the issue, they should have the right tools to tackle problems that might arise down the line.

The cliche saying from a lot of k-12 students learning about math is that "why does this matter." Those thoughts definitely cross my mind too as a high school junior sitting in AP Calc BC classes. Math is really about having a solid foundation since concepts being taught by the teacher today uses tools that were taught by the teacher a week or 2 weeks ago. I believe math is enjoyable, especially k-12 math, and I believe that I can teach math in a fun way and present real-life situations that help students absorb information rather than strictly asking them to work through 50 similar example problems. As someone who majors in a STEM major, I believe I have the right qualification to teach k-12 math.

As someone who just recently graduated, I believe I can still relate to your problems since it was not that far ago I sat on your side of the table struggling with similar problems before I ultimately conquered them. I do believe that my tutoring style is more loose and fun which will make the lesson more memorable, and thus make the concepts more memorable to the students. Feel free to contac
