I have a Bachelor's in English and recently earned my Master's in Literature. I'm an adjunct English faculty member with College of the Sequoias and SCCCD. I write creatively as well as professionally, which means I value authorial tone and each student's unique way of writing. I am a member of the International English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta, and I am a member of the International Honor Society Phi Kappa Phi. My short stories and other works have been published in literary magazines, accepted in symposiums, and presented at conferences. One of my main focuses in writing is creative adaptations of Classic Literature - this means that one of the things I'm good at is showing others how what seems to be an old, outdated and non-relative text can actually have significance and meaning for a modern reader, it all depends on what lens you're reading through.
I studied theatre, singing, and dancing for fifteen years growing up, both in community, privately, and in school. My first year of college was spent at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where I was taught by some of the best in the field, those who have been in film, television, and on Broadway. Our curriculum emphasized theatre history, theory, and technical understanding of the field, so I am able to help people in any level of theatre training - from beginners to experts!

Samantha is patient, persistent, and doing an excellent job helping to target the very area she was hired for...to assist an already great student with organizational techniques while writing, and to bolster his confidence. He is already approaching his assignments with more ease and finesse.
Samantha helped me develop ideas for introductions and conclusion, as well as modify body sentences that improved the quality and fluency of the essays.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My Bachelor's in English and Master's in Literature ensure that I have a mastery in the English language. I've been specifically trained in English grammar several times over the years and can certainly help you understand how to break down sentences and understand them.
I studied Ancient Greek for two semesters in graduate school. I passed both classes with an A, and I helped fellow students in my classes improve their grades on their quizzes throughout the semesters. In addition to this, I study many classic texts which are Greek in origin, and spend much time translating and comparing translations of such texts. For my methods, I have many studying strategies and charts which will help students keep track of Greek grammar, as well as select passages which will help students in their comprehension of how the grammar functions in real texts.
I received my Master's in English Literature and graduated with distinction. Now I teach English as an adjunct faculty at several community colleges. I specialize in helping others find relevance and meaning in literature, whether it's a modern text or a classic. I've creatively researched and retold several classic works of literature as senior/post-grad projects, and all received top marks from my professors. I also teach reading comprehension to all ages through the Institute of Reading Development over summers. If there is anyone who can help you with understanding and engaging with literature, it's me.
I have been involved in theatre since I was around five-years-old. I studied theatre both in community and school for fifteen years, and I also studied both dance and singing privately and in community for for fifteen years. My first year of college was at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where I was taught by the best in the field, those who have been on film, on television, and on Broadway. I have served in virtually all roles in the theatre business, from performing to technical support. Also, we were trained in theatre history as well at AMDA.
My stories and essays have been published in literary magazines, and accepted to symposiums and conferences. Writing is like breathing for me.
