In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I competed in my high school Forensics program for two years. I belonged to the National Forensics League and competed in both public forum debate and individual events. This included controversial topic debate, and both platform and interpretive speeches. I went on to compete for a year and a half as a member of CSU, Chico's forensics team. We travelled California, competing regionally, as a part of the American Forensics Association. I mainly focused on persuasive and informative speaking, and I have extensive training in both content and delivery of oral presentation.
