About Rohit

Hi!

My name is Rohit and I graduated from UC Irvine in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. I am currently in my fourth year as a medical student at Saba University School of Medicine. I have lived in Cerritos for over 15 years.

It is important to allow students to take their time to understand the subjects, simplify important concepts, and break down difficult material slowly step-by-step. I take my time to help students learn habits they will use for life: avoiding shortcuts, writing out each step to a solution, and most importantly double-checking answers.
In the past, I have been able to teach to others how to learn the fundamentals of a subject which they were unable to do in the classroom.

I take great joy in helping students realize their potential.

I can tutor Anatomy, Microbiology and Immunology.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have taken Algebra in 2003 and done well. I have completed college Calculus at UC Irvine in 2012 with an A-. I value methods that include writing out the solutions to problems fully, avoiding shortcuts, and breaking down complex concepts step-by-step. In class, I was known to help others realize their potential by showing them simple methods for learning. I wish to pass these simple methods on to others so they can build on it for future success. Practice and taking your time makes perfect.

Anatomy

I have taken and passed the Human Anatomy course administered at the medical school level in 2012.
This course included lab instruction, which featured live dissection of human bodies for hands-on experience.

I have taken a medical school Basic Sciences Review course through Kaplan, which has heavily focused on Human Anatomy.

I have taken the Step One portion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination and passed in 2014. This examination tests many subjects which include Anatomy.

Biology

I have graduated with a bachelor's degree from UC Irvine in Biological Sciences. I am now a third year medical student, so I have taken many biology courses that continue to emphasize the fundamentals of high school biology. I enjoy passing on concrete examples that helped me to excel in the field of biology.

Grammar

Grammar is one of a number of subjects where practice makes perfect.

I enjoy teaching other students grammar, which I view as a necessary skill for life and the workplace.

I received a score of 730/800 on the SAT Writing exam, which features two sections of Grammar Error Identification. The exam also features an essay, of which correct grammar is a factor tabulated into the final score. I received an 11/12 on this essay section.

Microbiology

I have taken and passed the Step One portion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination in 2014. This exam heavily tests the role of micro-organisms on the human body. My test results featured a subject-breakdown that demonstrated a strength in Microbiology above the national average.

I have taken and passed the course of Microbiology administered at the medical school level in 2013.

I have taken a review course of Basic Sciences administered by Kaplan in 2014. This course focused intensely on the subject of Microbiology.

The course of Microbiology can seem intimidating at first with dozens of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites to understand at a time. However, with a working system in place, students can learn rather than memorize concepts to ensure a slow-and steady commitment of groups to long-term memory.

Nutrition

I have taken and passed the Human Nutrition course at UC Irvine in 2010.

I have taken and passed the Step One portion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination in 2014. This exam heavily tests the role of nutrition on the human body. My test results featured a subject-breakdown that demonstrated a strength in Human Nutrition within the nation's top percentile.

I have taken and passed the courses of Biochemistry, Physiology and Pathology administered at the medical school level in 2012 and 2013. These three courses intensely focus on the role of vitamins and nutrition on the human body. They also discuss the consequences of vitamin deficiency, especially in the course of Pathology.

Pharmacology

I have taken and passed the Step One portion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination in 2014. This exam heavily tests the role of drugs on the human body. My test results featured a subject-breakdown that demonstrated a strength in Pharmacology above the national average.

I have taken and passed the course of Pharmacology administered at the medical school level in 2013.

I have taken a review course of Basic Sciences administered by Kaplan in 2014. This course focused intensely on the subject of Pharmacology.

The course of Pharmacology can seem intimidating at first with hundreds of drugs to understand at a time. However, with a working system in place, students can learn rather than memorize mechanisms to ensure a slow-and steady commitment of concepts to long-term memory.

Prealgebra

I value methods that include writing out the solutions to problems fully, avoiding shortcuts, and breaking down complex concepts step-by-step. In class, I was known to help others realize their potential by showing them simple methods for learning. I wish to pass these simple methods on to others so they can build on it for future success. Practice and taking your time makes perfect. I have taken Pre-Algebra in 2002 and done well. I have completed college Calculus at UC Irvine in 2012 with an A-.

Psychology

I have taken and passed the Step One portion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination in 2014. This exam heavily tests the mechanism of disease on the human body. My test results featured a subject-breakdown that demonstrated a strength in Pathology above the national average.

I have taken and passed the courses of both Pathophysiology and Psychiatry administered at the medical school level in 2013.

I have also taken and passed the course of Psychology at the undergraduate level at UC Irvine in 2008.

I have taken a review course of Basic Sciences administered by Kaplan in 2014. This course focused intensely on the subject of Pathology and Pathophysiology.

The course of Pathology can seem intimidating at first because of thousands of diseases requiring an intimate understanding of pathophysiology and mechanisms of disease. However, with a working system in place, students can learn rather than memorize concepts to ensure a slow-and steady commitment of body systems to long-term memory.

SAT Writing

The subjects tested in the SAT Writing exam are strengths of mine that I wish to pass on to other students.

I received a score of 730/800 on the section of SAT Writing, and an 11/12 on the essay portion of the test.

The essay often presents a dilemma for students, but it shouldn't.
If students utilize my method with essays, their score should increase in the same way that mine did.
