I became acquainted with the French culture and way of life having studied abroad at the Universite de Montpellier and at La Sorbonne. My classroom experience includes teaching in Philadelphia, Dover, Susquehanna Township, and Harrisburg in Pennsylvania, and in the Annapolis area of Maryland. After my retirement from public education three years ago, I moved to California.
Everyone has their own style of learning, and as such lessons should and would be adapted to complement your particular style as well as your individual interests and/or academic needs. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
