I've worked as a professional photographer for 20 years with experience in the studio with models as well as product photography. For the past 10 years however I've traveled the world as a combat photojournalist. My experience lends itself well to teaching how to "be one" with your camera, always at the ready and able to adapt to any shooting situation you may find yourself in. I'm intimately familiar with any aspect of photography you may be interested in, and have instructed many up and coming photographers in the basics as well as advanced techniques. Lighting, composition, lens choice, macro to telephoto photography, etc., etc., I can provide whatever you need.
I also am experienced in the selection, captioning and digital editing of photographs. Once you shoot your photos, I can show you how to create a workflow that will ensure you select, and if necessary, digitally enhance to have the best of the best to show, print, or sell.
My one on one teaching lends itself perfectly to photography. Learning as craft such as this has it's limitations in group instruction. I'll take the time to show you what you need to know, using simple and practical methods that will enhance your skills whether you're a beginner or advanced. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
