California State University of Long Beach (Astrophysics)
Welcome! My name is Jovnnay T. I'm currently attending my fourth year at California State University of Long Beach, and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics. In my educational career, I have taken advanced math courses that include Calculus 1-3, Differential equations, and Linear Algebra. These math courses requires a strong background of algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry, and pre-calculus. As a physic major, I have taken physic courses such as Heat & Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Modern Physics, Analytical Mechanics and Thermodynamics. I am currently a certified physics tutor on campus, where I assist other students prepare for exams or quizzes and complete their homework. I want to help students understand and comprehend their math or physic courses in a simpler way and exceed in their courses.
The one thing I dreaded when going to the teacher and asking for help was being judged for my inability to pick things up fast. Having a tutor outside of school, allowed me to freely ask questions and have personal assistance on specific topics I struggled with. I want to be able to provide the help I received to others in need. When I tutor, the student and I work as a team in a friendly and enriching environment. Everyone has a different way of learning, whether it is visually or repetitively. I try to accommodate each student to the best of my abilities to help them become successful in their course. It is in my best interest that my students understand and comfortable with the concepts provided in their classes. All you need is hard work and diligence. As the cliche goes, practice makes perfect.

He is very likable, helpful, and knowledgeable. He help me read a graph, understand word problems and functions. Explains with ease and asked if you understand it. Thank you! So much for your help!!!!
My kid was struggling with passing high school physics in his senior year at West Torrance High; in particular Newtonian physics and kinematics. We enlisted Jovanny for an hour a week, and he turned things around quickly. Very good with making difficult concepts understandable. He is extremely dependable and will stay until the student is comfortable with the material; sometimes 2 - 2.5 hours. My son ended up with a high B in the class! I can wholeheartedly recommend Jovanny.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have completed up to Calculus 3 in college, and currently tutoring at CSULB for this specific topic. In my upper division physics and math courses, calculus 1-3 appear frequently, which allows me to have a strong conceptual grasp.
