I am passionate about teaching programming and STEM topics. In university, I attended teaching courses and served as teaching assistant for Cyber Security and Intro to Programming. I learned to teach students and develop my own content and administer tests. I both taught in a classroom setting and individually tutored students in office hours. Each student presented his or her unique learning situation, so I learned how to ensure each unique success. My students were always extremely happy with my teaching and left me consistently high reviews.

At work, I am a professional Python Data Scientist and tutor. I work daily in data manipulation in Pandas, visualization through Plotly, building machine learning and deep learning models, and building notebooks and scripts. I excel in tutoring students through bootcamps and college certificates, and have taught dozens of people from MIT students to Google engineers.

My teaching approach is tailored exactly to my student's pace. I will personally prepare a lesson plan to teach a particular concept or project, or create a larger framework toward building a successful knowledge base. I teach Socratically by walking through examples so that we are always engaged with real applications. I keep a personal profile of each person I tutor, allowing us to track progress and maintain a tailored learning experience to ensure success. With my range of experience from academia to industry, I am confident and enthusiastic about tutoring anyone. I have also always empathized greatly with a younger audience, feeling especially fulfilled starting them on the right path! My journey has been long but rewarding, and I hope to guide others down the path I've forged.

Very helpful and Knowledgeable

Michael is very clear in his explanations and making sure that you understand everything that he says. He taught me how about how to apply machine learning to a problem using a biological publicly available dataset and we also went over data wrangling, string manipulation and regex (a pattern recognition algorithm). If you haven't used his services yet, I would highly recommend!

Great Tutor: Print Statements to Machine Learning in 4 Weeks

Started my lessons with Michael back in mid January & had no previous experience coding in python. I am chemist by trade but wanted to learn more about python since there are tons of applications. From the first meeting he had me up & running writing code where I was struggling to import basic software packages & do print statements. We are currently several lessons in & we are tackling projects such as machine learning & web scraping. I have definitely learned a ton & it has opened my eye to the overall landscape of where AI technology is headed. If you are considering learning python Michael will do a great job of getting you up & going. I would highly recommend!
