I have 2 years of experience tutoring middle and high school students in math. I was a lab assistant for AP Chemistry, and last year worked as a research assistant in an organometallic chemistry lab in college. I took AP Physics 1 and 2 and passed both AP tests, and excelled at Introductory Physics in college. I studied French through AP in high school, got a 5 on the AP test, studied in France for a summer, and succeeded in a 200-level French course in college. Lastly, I have been a professionally performing guitarist for six years and have been teaching guitar for one year. My most recent musical honor was performing with the national honor band, the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra. As a guitar teacher, I start with the basics and keep students engaged by teaching them the songs they love. I can transcribe any song you want and teach it to you!
As a tutor, I let the student guide the discussion. When the student does not understand a topic, I explain the concept, give an example, and then let the student apply the concept to the problem. I work with students by breaking problems down into smaller chunks and going through each part methodically as a team. I am also a fan of puns and keep tutoring sessions light and fun with academic humor!
As a young tutor, I speak the language of Gen Z - because I am Gen Z. That means I can communicate technical scientific concepts clearly while staying fresh and engaging.
