I make our sessions fun. You learn why it is important to be able to complete algebra/math problems. I tutor at the Tutoring Club and also privately tutor students. I have participated in the Financial Literacy Campaign as well.
I have gotten results and students get AHA! moments quite often.
I have always loved and excelled in the mathematics/algebra field. I have graduated from San Diego State University twice: once with my bachelor's in business administration with an emphasis in finance and management; and secondly with an MBA. Education is important and I let you know that often. I want you to do whatever you want with your life, but first you have to have the education to make the money to get there. Hello.

Theresa listens to my daughter and creates a lesson plan around what she loves to do, ride horses. We have had 3 tutoring sessions with Theresa and she is very knowledgeable and kind.
My 9 year old has a fear of Math but Theresa makes it fun for her.
Theresa is a great fit for my daughter. Its early still, but making progress on homework and understanding key concepts
My son (13 years old) struggled with math for the last 2 years. We brought in Theresa in hope to raise his grades and develop a better understanding of math concepts. He now has a B+ in math, and we thank Theresa for that.
Very disappointed. I would respond to emails sent from Theresa with appointment times immediately and several times, despite my immediate response, she would say that spot had been filled by another student. Finally I was able to secure an appointment after several attempts, but on the day she changed the appointment with little notice and then didn't show up without so much as a call. I can't really comment on her actual tutoring skills, but think maybe she is either over booking or simply just not organized. I hope you don't experience what I did. Best of luck!
She is very kind and very patient as a tutor and she has helped my son very much to understand the lesson. My son has already improved in math . I would recommend Mrs Theresa to every parent who desperately wants to help their child in math.
Thank you very much, Mrs Theresa!
Theresa has been a wonderful geometry tutor for my 9th grader. She makes math easy to understand, and my daughter is able to do it on her own once Theresa explains it to her. Theresa is patient and has a cheerful attitude and my daughter feels very comfortable with her. We are thrilled we found Theresa.
Had to look up directions in my math book for most problems. Not what I expected for the price point and by what's advertised.
Theresa has been a wonderful tutor and my daughter enjoys the time they spend together learning algebra (and yes, her grades have improved greatly). Thank God!
My sons was struggling with his Algebra, we had Theresa start tutoring him, his grade is now a solid "A". He actually enjoys learning new methods and is not so timid when taking test at school now!
Theresa has struck a chord with our daughter, and has her listening and performing. Her math grade has gone up after 2 lessons and more importantly she is more confident in math. Thanks Theresa!
I'm sure Theresa is a good tutor in other math specialties, but my daughter did not think she was up to speed on pre calculus. My daughter is a Junior in high school and is taking pre calculus level math. In that area of math, there is a symbol which is an open dot that has a certain meaning in pre calculus that Theresa mistook for the times symbol. My daughter had to explain the meaning of the symbol, and I think the session went downhill from there. My guess is that Theresa would be a good choice for elementary or middle school math, but not upper level high school math. She was very nice and followed up well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Successfully tutored students of all ages in Algebra for over 20 years.
