I have the academic and professional background to contribute to the success of your child. Currently I am working at Newport-Mesa Unified School District as their high school counselor, test site coordinator and IEP/504 administrative representative. At NMUSD I provide behavioral and educational counseling to individuals and small groups of students, I work collaboratively with teachers and parents in regards to student’s social, emotional and behavioral problems and assist in finding a solution. I currently run a program at where students are concurrently enrolled in high school and college and graduate with their Associates Degree and High School Diploma in four years. I am focused on working with each student and assisting them to ensure they are on the right track to transfer to a four year university.
Prior to NMUSD I was high school counselor at Torrey Pines High School in San Dieguito Union High School District. Some of my duties at Torrey Pines High School were to collect, organize, and analyze information about individuals through records, tests, interviews, and professional sources; to appraise their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personality characteristics, for vocational and educational planning; Conduct conferences as requested or deemed necessary: parent-teacher, parent-teacher-student, or teacher-student; Collaborate IEPs, 504s, SSTs, SARB, and post suspension conference meetings with students and parents.
I completed my internship hours at La Jolla High School and Calavera Hills Middle School where I ran small groups, met with parents and educators to assist students with educational, career, and life development. I provided professional, academic and career advisement to students and parents by walking student through the necessary steps to be eligible to apply to a four year university. I had close interaction with children that have special needs and participated in professional development activities to improve personal knowledge and talent.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
