My name is Travis and I went to college locally. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. I also speak Arabic which I would also like to offer my tutoring services in. I worked as an Arabic translator with the Department of Defense and I have a linguist certification.
I am certificated to teach in the classroom and have been for a local school district for the last two years with a good record. In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience in private tutoring for which I've received positive feedback. In one students words, I'm the "best tutor ever." Also, I've been told by others that I have a way of explaining difficult topics in a clear, concise way. I have worked with students enough to anticipate what troubles the may have with a given topic, so I can see the problem from the beginner's perspective, and explain accordingly.
I look forward to hearing from you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm a graduate of the Defense Language Institute's Arabic language program, an intensive 63-week course for military personnel pursuing linguistic careers. I successfully passed the final exam with scores of 2 in listening, 3 in reading, and 2 in speaking, exceeding that which is required of linguists.
