It is my real pleasure to provide this service to my clients who find I meet their need. It is my hope that I can truly get your son or daughter feeling successful and confident with high school math again within a few of our lessons. I focus immediately on what they need as I seek the questions they are dealing with and what it is they need to see and experience so we can get them back on that road of true understanding. And with my 38 years of high school teaching I am confident that I can explain things in a simpler way than most. Students often comment that I make it seem simple. I think that is vital in the learning process so that all the ideas are connected.
I spent most of my career in private schools like Campbell Hall and Oak Park High School, but after my short life as an administrator in LA Unified Schools I find myself happily back in the classroom. I am currently teaching Algebra II and love it. It really is the only subject I am going to work with since that really has become my greatest strength and I enjoy it the most as well.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a math dept chair and have taught HS math for over 36 years. I have tutored students in ACT material for many years. I am quite good at all the mathematics in the ACT
I have taught Algebra I for at least 35 years in Public school. I am a fully credentialed teacher with two master's degrees from ASU and CSUN. I know my HS math extremely well.
This is my favorite subject to teach. I currently have two Algebra II classes at my school and have a great reputation as being one of the best Algebra teachers at the school. I have been teaching 38 years and most of those years were Alg II so I think I really not only get it by now, but I can really help someone avoid the common pitfalls.
My background in high school mathematics is deep and well developed since I have been a dept chair numerous times, and have taught all levels of ranging from Pre-Algebra through Calculus AP. Your son or daughter will be able to easily understand my explanations because I keep it simple as we learn each component.
