I have a vast experience tutoring and teaching a variety of students from kindergarten through college age. With seven years’ experience working with students, I have come to the conclusion that each student brings a unique set of strengths and experiences to the tutoring environment. It is my goal to show each student how they can apply these strengths and experiences to developing their potential and to overcome weaknesses. I see every student as a capable individual holding high expectations for all students regardless of the challenges they may face.
In December of 2018 I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) through the Accelerated Teaching Program (ACT) which allows me to teach K-6th in California. I worked with second graders and fifth graders in my student teaching experience. I worked for a summer in 2016 creating my own math curriculum for student with disabilities at CSUN.I also have worked with K-6th grade students on their writing skills and 3rd-6th grade students on their vocabulary. I love to tap dance and practice color guard which I helped teach the team at my former high school. I have diverse experience working with students that make me a well-rounded tutor.

I have tutored college math (college algebra and trigonometry) from 2012 to 2017. I worked with younger students (3 years old - 7 years old) on their basic math skills at KUMON Learning Center. I started off my college career as a math major until I changed my mind and went for my true passion of understanding people through psychology. I love teaching math and having/teaching students new skills to complete their math work.

I worked at KUMON Learning Center for three and half years with the younger students on their phonics skills (3 years old - 7 years old). I am currently teaching homeschool students (K-3rd) phonics. In my student teaching I taught lessons in phonics to second graders. I think phonic is an important building block to being able to be a successful readers and enjoy working in this field.

Please contact me with any questions you may have. I hope to start working with you soon.

Great First Meeting

This was our first lesson. It was a pleasure to meet Michelle, she got off to a great start with my daughter, and quickly assessed her strengths and and areas where she's more challenged. Looking forward to more lessons with Michelle!
