Baccalaureate Degree (Child Development,)
Inspired by my mother, a teacher and musician with over 35 years of experience in the British and New Zealand educational system, I learned the importance of a high quality education at a young age. At CSUN, I completed my degree in Child Development, and a minor in Child Administration. I not only come with a background in the Fine Arts, but received the Scholastic Achievement Award by being nominated in the top 5% of my graduating class of 675 students in 2013. As a result of my success, my greatest reward is seeing students achieve good grades.
My ongoing studies led me to develop a love for the Reggio Emilio philosophy. It became apparent during this time that the need to transform education and achieve the highest standard of education was imperative during my college years. It all began with my desire to create a family style program at home, where I could raised and educate my own child in a safe environment with family and the local community. My goal remains to instill a love for learning in each college level student, and to collaborate and build meaningful relationships, allowing each student to realize their unlimited potential. I specialize in editing term papers, helping the student in developing an essay, grammar, spelling, public speaking, reading, and most importantly aim to achieve success on exams. This means developing great study methods. Whether we are working on an essay, or simply the basic idea of objective or critical thinking, one of my goals each session is to keep the student engaged and challenged. I prefer to have a 24 hour cancellation policy. I will make attempts to be flexible and offer make up classes if necessary. I provide a quiet, comfortable, safe, and clean study environment out of my home for personal attention. However, I am happy to travel to a location for a small travel fee. I look forward to helping those in need, and excited to lead them on the road to great success. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
