University of Southern California (Cinema-TV Production)
I graduated with Honors at the top of my high school class, and earned a Bachelor's Degree from one of the most competitive Liberal Arts programs in the nation (USC School of Cinematic Arts). I possess excellent communication and problem solving skills with an uncanny knack of getting to the root of a problem (and conquering it).
I believe it is crucial for the tutor to understand the student's mental and/or learning blocks, and discover simple approaches of breaking through those blocks, thus maximizing student potential for both present and future scholastic challenges.
I specialize in tutoring spelling, reading comprehension, English and creative writing for grades K-12. I have won multiple awards for writing short screenplays and directing short films. I have also completed multiple television and film scripts.
While I understand some things are beyond our control, mutual accountability is paramount to me. Therefore my 24-hour cancellation policy goes both ways. If a student fails to make an appointment, they are responsible for 50% of my rate. If I must cancel within 24 hours, I will provide 50% more instruction time -- free -- at the next session.
To ensure that students have a quiet and comfortable study space in which to learn, I prefer to hold tutoring sessions at the student's residence or a quiet coffee shop. However, please know I am happy to travel to another location if that is preferable to the student.
I hold myself to the highest of standards, and promise to lead my students from confusion to confidence in all areas of academic concern.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
