My name is Michael M. and I graduated from the Master's College in Santa Clarita in 2013 with a degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, and Management. Business has always interested me greatly, especially learning how to make companies run efficiently and cost effectively. I'm currently studying for the CPA Exam, and have passed 3 out of the 4 parts.
I've had several students, both through WyzAnt and outside. I've tutored my friends in accounting and finance, I tutored Chemistry in High School, I tutored my sister, etc. From my tutoring experiences I learned that there is no "one size fits all" method for tutoring. Some students are visual learners, and need to see concepts worked out in order to understand. Others are auditory, and need to have it explained to them repeatedly. Others just need to practice problems over and over again until they are comfortable with how to figure it out for themselves. I learned that you won't be able to best help a student without knowing that student and the way that they learn. And that's true, whether the subject is accounting or art, and everything in between.
Students need patient, genuine tutors. To that end, it isn't my job to get frustrated, move on before you're ready or pressure you into moving faster than you're actually learning. My responsibility is to help you learn what you aren't understanding in class, or prepare for that big test you have coming up. Whatever the case, I will do my best to improve your understanding, confidence and ability in the way that works best for you.
I'm looking forward to working with you,
Michael M. Dear Students,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
