I am a credentialed high school teacher with over twenty years of experience. I have taught all levels of Spanish, from regular to AP/IB, native and non-native Speakers and have a high passing rate in the AP Spanish Language exam. Whether tutoring or teaching in a classroom, I use an individualized approach in working with students to address their unique needs.
Tutoring and private sessions allow the teacher to work at the student's pace, affording the learner to be more comfortable in taking risks. My training in TESOL allows me to take an eclectic approach in diagnosing problems and applying the most effective strategies.
I have a degree in Spanish. I can teach language and literature. I also have a graduate degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), which has strengthened my knowledge in language acquisition. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in the public school sector. I am immersed in the Spanish language and culture. As a recreational flamenco dancer, I take frequent trips to Spain to study this art form.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
