I was born to teach, and have a natural talent for explaining complex topics in easy-to-understand terminology. After having spent 25 years teaching computer and computer networking courses (A+, Network+, MCSE+I, etc.), I am now available to tutor students on a one-on-one basis.
The most rewarding part of teaching and tutoring is, when a student has been struggling with a difficult concept and I find that analogy that "clicks" in the student's mind, I can almost see the light bulb flash on over the student's head. It is totally readable on their face, and I know I just made a difference in someone's life.
I have been in the I.T. industry my entire adult life. Starting with word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and desktop publishing, I expanded to pretty much all aspects of the industry. Operating systems, networking, databases, hardware, productivity software, etc.
Microsoft experience goes all the way back to DOS 3.3; Macintosh experience extends back to the Lisa (the prototype for the original 1984 Macintosh machines); also familiar with Unix/Linux systems and Novell Netware. I've taught Advanced DOS, Advanced Windows, and Advanced Office courses, along with the entire spectrum of networking. My SQL experience goes back to 1995.
To tap into this well of 30 years experience, contact me, now. I was born to teach, and have a natural talent for explaining complex topics in easy-to-understand terminology. Not only did he helped me figure out the issue with my networking but also gave me a great explanation of all the intricacies that compose a network. Thanks again!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Born in Los Angeles, my father was a librarian and my mother was an educational aide who read to me often as a child. Later in life, I was passionate about debate and public speaking, spending half my college life studying speech and the other half in communications. Trained in voice and diction.
I have more than 20 years of adult education in the I.T. industry, including hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and productivity software. I have worked for New Horizons Computer Learning Center, Prosoft Learning, and Knowledge Alliance, in addition to smaller, "mom and pop" training programs.
I am a former trainer for a Computer Learning Center. I am a longtime user and teacher of Microsoft Excel.
I started with Word 2.0, back in 1985. I taught Microsoft Word at a Computer Learning Center for quite some time. I am quite knowledgeable an all aspects of the program, including advanced functionality, like Index and Table of Contents entries, tables, text wrapping, headers/footers, and fields.
My certifications include CompTIA A+ Hardware Technician and Network+.
I am also a CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer.
I have taught Network+ certification courses for almost 10 years.
I have several handouts and visual aids, made myself, specifically for the purpose of teaching computer networking.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. In the course of obtaining that degree, many of the courses I took were speaking courses; Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Persuasion, Argumentation, etc. I have taught for nearly 30 years (an occupation which is entirely public speaking). For six of those years, one of the courses I taught was Train-The-Trainer, so I taught people how to teach.
