Bridge Linguatec, Inc. (TEFL Certification)
Universal Ministries School of Theology (PhD)
I've taught adults and children for the past 25 years. I have designed appropriate curriculum consistent with students’ levels and goals as well as creative and interactive programs that were both educational and enjoyable.
I’m a certified ESL/TEFL instructor and have excellent command over the English language, as well as extensive knowledge of how to teach English as a Second Language. My specialties are teaching English for adult learners, young learners and business English. My excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, allow me to design lessons that give the learner the tools and confidence needed to excel with the use of English language in their personal, business or school life.
I do not prepare boilerplate lessons. Depending on your language level, a language assessment will be done. This information will ensure that lessons are designed to fit your specific language needs.
While I am flexible with my time, I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy; make up classes may be available.
I am available mid-mornings and early afternoons up to 5 days per week; other time options maybe available. To preserve the integrity of our tutoring sessions, I usually tutor in a public library or some other public venue. Tutoring is also available online in the evenings.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am certified as an EFL/ESL Instructor. I received a grade of "A" in all of my EFL/ESL coursework. I specialize in Business Learners, Adult Learners and Young Learners. I have been teaching adults and young learners for over 20 years. I also teach EFL/ESL online for TOPICA Native. I love teaching; I believe knowledge is one of the greatest gifts we can give each other.
When tutoring students, I use the humanistic approach to learning. This approach is a collection of different ways to teach language taking into account not only intellect of the student but also the student's feelings. My tutoring methods also include an initial assessment of the student's level of English language skills. This assessment allows me to understand the student's language needs and design appropriate lesson plans. My teaching methods include the use of visual aids, pictures, realia, flashcards, timelines, videos, and computer assisted learning. Use of these methods when teaching give the student many opportunities to practice the language by speaking, writing, listening and reading. I am a certified TOEFL instructor.
