My name is Grace. I immigrated to the United State twelve years ago from Mainland China and I’m bi-literate in both Chinese Mandarin and English. I love teaching. I'm a mom. I would like to help people in need. Helping other makes me happy in my life. Being a teacher or a translator/interpreter makes me feel complete and accomplished.
I am confident in my abilities to be successful in this job position. I have six years teaching experience in China. I have a bachelor degree in China evaluated in USA in English Education. After I graduated, I taught English in a Junior High School for six years. I took Western teaching methods to develop students’ enthusiasm, to encourage all my students to speaking English instead of only reading and writing, to create a comfortable learning environment, and to participate with them to learn together. I had two time experiences to work with disability students. One is physical disability and the other has Down syndrome. Also I have been working on administrative position for years. Company’s experiences fast my working pace, improve communication levels, and accumulate ability of multi-tasking skills.
I am capable in handling difficult situations, and I am very responsible for what I do. Communication, understanding, and asking advice are guiding me in the right directions. I am self-disciplined, self-motivated, well organized, a hard worker, punctual, and a team player. I understand confidentiality.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
