Hi my name is Moira and I am a medical student who tutors in the subjects of US History, Biology, and Physiology. When I was hired as a college tutor at MiraCosta Community College in 2013, I became a certified tutor through the International Tutor Training Program. I graduated from Creighton University with a B.A. in History and Minor in American Studies in 2009. Afterwards, I moved home and began taking the pre med requirements for medical school. I completed my prerequisite work at UCSD, MiraCosta College, and Palomar College. I attended MiraCosta College from the summer of 2009 to 2013 and earned an associates degree in the liberal arts of mathematics and science. I enjoy what I do and try to find a teaching style that best suits the individual. I also love to find creative and fun ways to relay the information to the students. My medical interests lie in pediatrics, family medicine, and oncology. I also enjoy museums and watching historical films.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
