Hello everyone! My name is Peter and I am an emergency medicine resident physician at the Los Angeles County Medical Center who recently graduated from Brown University.

Ever since I signed up to tutor the sciences and math in high school, teaching has been a passion of mine. I love looking at the issues my students are facing and helping to make the material stick, translating it in a way that generates greater understanding. Since high school, my teaching assignments have taken me from the rural farms of Kenya, to the halls of Brown and Harvard Medical School, to my founding of an educational initiative during my medical training. On the side, I have tutored and advised numerous students along the way, specializing in biology, chemistry, college/medical school admissions, and test prep (MCAT and USMLE).

Specifically, I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology while at Middlebury as the Charles Allen Research Fellow, one of the college's most rigorous majors. After graduating college, I worked in a cardiology lab at Harvard Medical School, instructed STEM for high school students at a renowned Harvard Medical School program, mastered the MCAT, and enrolled in medical school at Brown University. I have tutored high school, college, and medical students both formally and informally in biology, chemistry, admissions, and test prep over the last decade. I enjoy making material as understandable and digestible as possible until my students walk away satisfied conquering their challenges.

I am available for live and online lessons. I am happy to discuss a lower rate of $80 if you plan on needing multiple sessions. Please don't hesitate to reach out to learn more about how we can work together to overcome any obstacles you are facing as a student!

I currently tutor chemistry for local students and enjoy making its principles fun to learn for students using practical examples. I have taken chemistry throughout high school, college, and apply its foundations to my medical school training and clinical work on a daily basis. I also served as an organic chemistry teaching assistant and performed biochemistry senior research while at Middlebury College.

College Counseling

Guiding high school students through the admissions process to achieve acceptance at their dream schools is a passion of mine! I have served as an interviewer for Middlebury College over the past four years, and am one of only two medical students from the Class of 2020 to serve on the MD Admissions Committee at Brown University. Here, I read student files, interview them, and participate in discussions with MD faculty and staff regarding the best students to admit. I also have assisted over 20 high school students with college planning and career development in the past through a local program. I enjoy paying forward my experiences and knowledge to help high school students perfect their resumes, college essays, letters of recommendation, and more to get into their ideal college or program! Please contact me if you are interested in either single or packaged sessions tailored to your goals.

MCAT,

MCAT

I took the new MCAT in the spring of 2015, mastering the material in chemistry, biology, physics, organic chemistry, psychology, sociology, and CARS. This mastery allowed me to interview at several medical schools including Brown, Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth, University of Chicago, Duke, Emory, Georgetown, along with many others before I enrolled at my dream school. I have tutored the MCAT for 22 students and professionals over the last five years, and look forward to paying forward my strategies and tutoring on all MCAT subjects to my future students.
USMLE,

USMLE

I mastered the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2CK over 6 weeks of independent study time and after two years of preparation in the medical school curriculum. This allowed me to pursue my dream specialities in a surgical or procedural field. I have tutored and advised 20 medical students on taking the USMLE Step 1, Step 2CK, and Step 2CS, revealing both study strategies and ways to better understand and remember the material that is high yield for test day.
