I am a graduate from the University of Southern California with a very strong background in writing and proofreading. Throughout my college career, I have taken many writing as well as creative writing courses which have given me the strong knowledge of the key essentials for any critical writing essay. In my classes, I had extensive peer review training and edit sessions where I would proofread essays and help expand on ideas. I am also a published columnist for Noire and Pivot Magazines, writing on topics such as career development for millenials and entertainment news. With my easy going demeanor and meticulous detail to punctuation, I aim to work collaboratively with my students so they will attain a better grasp for critical writing, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
While I am very proficient in all areas of reading, writing, proofreading, and English, my expertise is in college essay writing - particularly for college admissions! Completing a college application is a laborious task that requires a lot of time, patience, and emotional vulnerability. While many applicants try to fluff their applications with lofty themes throughout the paper, oftentimes the most powerful and resonating essays are simple yet personal. Working collaboratively with several high school seniors, I enjoy collaborating with my students to brainstorm ideas and then expanding them into essays. I also use this same approach when working on other critical and persuasive essays.
In addition to essay writing, I also tutor for ACT English. Having tested in the 99th percentile on the English section, I have a strong knowledge of all the tested concepts. With only 45 minutes to complete 75 questions, the ACT English section is as much about speed as it is about accuracy. By helping each student understand each concept in punctuation and grammar, I aim to help increase each student's speed while still paying close attention to detail and nuance.
