About Cheyenne

Hello! I am a current UC Berkeley student planning to major in astrophysics. My favorite subject to teach is math, specifically Algebra and Geometry. I am an upbeat person with a very passionate style of tutoring, and I have been tutoring for 3 years now. I continue to tutor because I have gained many valuable experiences from helping others and I enjoy watching students progress and gain confidence. In my free time I like to listen to music and go for runs in the Berkeley Hills.

I have taken 6 years of math and gotten straight A's in all courses. I teach math in a way that connects concepts and allows students to see how they will be relevant in the future or can be applied to real life. I also show different ways the same concept can be approached so that the student may choose what feels best to them. Having basic math skills is essential because math continually builds off of prior knowledge.

I enjoy working with elementary school kids because they bring curiosity and energy. As I am a big kid myself I enjoy the enthusiasm that younger students bring and I recognize how important a good elementary education is for the student's success later on.

Please contact me with any questions or to schedule a session. For high school students I am also able to answer questions and provide tips regarding college admissions having gone through the process fairly recently myself.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I have received a 33 on the math portion of the ACT.
