On the Graduate Records Exam I scored in the 97th percentile on math, 92nd percentile on reading, and 93rd percentile on writing.

I have tutoring experience on a volunteer-basis for Math Science Nucleus and Abode Services for homeless and low-income families for children ranging from 3 to 16. Additionally, I was a resident advisor/tutor the past 2 summers for 55 high school students (80% of whom were international students) at the Summer Focus program at UC Berkeley. For eight weeks in this position, I led the 20-hour SAT class and I helped the students to succeed in their college classes by creating practice exams, proofreading assignments, and answering their questions about a variety of subjects. I also have paid private tutoring experience for over 65 students ranging from ages 8 to 50 on a one-on-one basis. This leads to a total of over 700 hours of tutoring experience.

My tutoring is entirely based on student's needs and goals. I strive to help all students reach a proficiency in which I am no longer necessary. I accomplish this first by identifying specific areas the student needs assistance. Then, I demonstrate how to solve example problems and request the student to attempt similar problems by themselves with my supervision. I am very patient with students, and I try multiple approaches to each problem until we find one that works for the student. At the end of the lesson, I can recommend sample resources to improve the student's performance on their own time.

I earned an A in the following classes in college: Elementary Statistics (STA 13), Non-parametric Statistics (STA 104), Regression Analysis (STA 108), Analysis of Variance (STA 106), Brief Mathematical Statistics 1 (STA 130A), Time Series Analysis (STA 137), Categorical Data Analysis (STA 138), Statistical Computing (STA 141), Sampling theory of Surveys (STA 144), Calculus 2 (MAT 21B), Linear Algebra (MAT 22A), Research Methods in Psychology (PSC 41), Cognitive Psychology (PSC 100Y), Statistical Analysis of Psychological Data (PSC 103A), Developmental Psychology (PSC 140), Cognitive Development (PSC 141/HDE 101), Social Psychology (PSC 151), Psychology of Emotion (PSC 154), Personality Psychology (PSC 162), Abnormal Psychology (PSC 168), and Current Controversies in Research Methods in Psychology (PSC 190).

Money well spent!!!!

When we began scheduling tutor sessions with Anna, I had been working with my son on his homework by myself when I could fit it in. He was getting A's on his homework, but getting F's on all his tests and quizzes. It was incredibly frustrating. He wasn't retaining ANY of the information from our lessons. But within weeks of his tutoring sessions with Anna, I received an email from his teacher saying how proud she was of him for the improvements he has been making, and the confidence and comfort he now exudes. He went from having an F in the class, to a B- in less than 2 months. I could not be more proud of his accomplishments, and I am 100% certain that he could not have done it without Anna's help! Thank you, Anna!!!

Great tutor

Anna was very nice and patient with me during our first tutoring session. She helped me catch up on my Statistics lesson for an exam. So far she has helped me refresh on things I needed more clarity on after missing class for about a week. Anna's teaching speed is perfect and she is able to break down methods for you to grasp better. I didn't feel like she was "dumbing" down anything but making it more plain to understand. She is very smart and good at teaching. She's very kind and flexible with times to meet and tutor so I would highly recommend her services to anyone.

Anna helped our son pass AP Stats!

Well, he isn't quite there yet, but when Anna started tutoring our son he was 7 assessments behind with no understanding of statistics at all, and in just 3 weeks he has passed 4 of them and has just 3 to go! Anna has made a big difference in his ability to handle AP Stats and he is on target to pass the class and graduate.
