I came to Erica with an particular focus, and she came up with exactly what I need.
Once I spoke French well, but not for many, many years. In just a few weeks, I need to brush off my rusty language skills to participate confidently in French radio and television interviews. Erica quickly assessed my strengths and weaknesses. She asked exactly the sorts of questions about my work and background that an interviewer might, including some that headed the conversation into dangerous areas. Erica pointed out areas to focus on pronunciation and pertinent vocabulary, and she made an excellent plan for ways in which I could outline talking points to anchor interviews. She asked me to construct formulations for those points in French, and use that as the basis for any future sessions, if necessary. Erica provided exactly what I need in a way that was efficient with my time. I give her my enthusiastic recommendation.
Erica was very patient with my son and clearly experienced in tutoring French. She was engaging in working on vocabulary, pronunciations, and forming sentences and questions. Great session!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
