In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. degree in Integrative Biology and Physiology and I am a current optometry student at UC Berkeley. I completed a Physiology of Nutrition as an upper division elective course at UCLA and received a final grade of an A. It was taught by David H. I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. degree in Integrative Biology and Physiology. I completed a Pharmacology course in my first year of optometry school at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. The topics covered included pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles, autonomic pharmacology, drug dosing, ocular pharmacology, drugs for ocular and systemic allergies, drugs for infection, anti-inflammatory drugs, and pharmacology of pain.
I have been using various study skills throughout the years to excel in each of the classes I needed to complete. I approached each subject differently, carefully planning the right steps needed to take to be as efficient as possible. I have used various learning techniques (mind map, flash cards, summary sheets, multiple choice exams, diagrams, Cornell method) in order to learn the material and be able to maintain it in my memory.
