Hi, I'm Justin! I recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. As an engineering major, although the math involved is difficult at times, it was always interesting to me. I always like to find patterns and ways to apply math in real life. I would also like to provide interactive visuals of concepts with clients upon request via quick Java/Javascript based programs/sketches.
I have a year of tutoring experience in tutoring primarily geometry and intermediate algebra, directly with students at home or a nearby campus/coffee shop. Therefore, I am completely accustomed to the atmosphere of 1-on-1 tutoring. Although I do well in math myself, I fully understand the difficulty of it for many other people. With that in mind, my goal as a tutor is to provide the clients with useful visuals and tips that they can use even in future classes. My scope is also not just limited to geometry and algebra, but also calculus 1 and 2 in addition to some basics on differential equations. With my rapidly growing usage of the Processing IDE, I can also potentially assist in some basic Java and Javascript concepts as well.
I use these math concepts frequently as an engineering major, and make visual notes to understand them better for myself. In that case, I can easily do the same for other students. Plus, I passed the AP Calculus BC exam with the highest score available: 5. In college, the highest level math subjects I achieved were in Differential Equations and Multi-Variable Calculus (Calculus 3).
I am always happy to help whenever I can! As a student myself, I completely understood how others could not seem to grasp some of these concepts. With that in mind, do not hesitate to contact me for more info!
