“**Great Tutor!**”

I have always enjoyed tutoring. I first started tutoring at Crafton Hills College in the tutoring center there. I loved getting to know all the people who came down to the tutoring center. I loved hearing about all their different stories. the diversity was so refreshing. The people I worked with were so amazing. Whenever there wasn't anybody in

Christopher is a very polite, patient, and knowledgeable. He has helped me with my college level physics courses. Physics is not a subject that comes easy to me and Christopher has helped make the material much easier for me to understand. I would definitely recommend Christopher for those who feel physics is out of their comfort zone!

My daughter was able to do very well in her finals and raise her calculus grade higher than expected. We really appreciate her tutoring sessions with Chris and look forward to working together again next semester.

Very pleased with tutoring results. My daughter was struggling in her high school physics class & failed the first two tests. Christopher has been very knowledgeable & patient with her. I am very pleased to say she is now beginning to understand the subject with the the help of Christopher & she aced her last test!

Great tutor! Christopher was very patient, kind, and humble! Especially when I struggled with word problems he even explained the problem 2-4 times until I was able to understand it! Highly recommended!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have been tutoring math for about 5 years now, and I have learned how to navigate and study just about every kind of mathematics. The ACT math section covers Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry, all of which I have studied and mastered over the course of my life. I learned how to teach these subjects to others will I studied at Crafton Hills College and worked in the tutoring center there. I was trained bi-weekly in how to teach students to solve math problems quickly, and I have done so ever since.

Algebra 1 was among the most common courses that students needed help with at Crafton Hills College. We would receive bi-weekly training on this subject. We were expected to complete a set of common problems on the chapters that students would be covering in the next couple of weeks. If we had any difficulty with the problems we would discuss methods for teaching them.

Most students at Crafton Hills College came into the tutoring center with questions about algebra 2. Because of this the bi-weekly training's focused on algebra 2 and customer service. In training I was asked to solve problems as clearly as possible and set up a step-by-step procedure for solving similar problems.

In physics the primary mathematics that we use is calculus. The majority of formulas are derived using concepts from calculus. Because of this, I have a great deal of practice solving calculus problems. I would also discuss concepts with other tutors at the tutoring center in Crafton Hills College.

I have taken several classes on differential equations, as well as partial differential equations. I have also taught differential equations at The Landing Pad. When at Crafton Hills College I taught differential equations to the students there as well.

I am majoring in physics and spend up to 20 hours a week working on problems and developing new methods for problem solving. I can use this developed knowledge to guide students in their own studies. Hopefully this will also encourage students to consider physics or engineering as a possible career choice as well. I feel that too many people consider physics above their heads, when they could learn and understand it if given enough time and guidance. This is what I wish to provide to my students.

At the Landing pad, I would help students fairly often with prealgebra. My focus was to help them develop the skills necessary to move on to algebra 1. I would sit with the students as long as I could to help them through their problem sets, guiding them and helping them to catch their mistakes and correct them.

This was a common upper level class at crafton hills college. I would typically get about 1 or 2 students a week coming in for help with pre-Calculus. This class deals mostly with graphs, limits, and trig. I use all of these concepts on a regular basis, and I have tried to develop methods for teaching these concepts.

I have studied mathematics and physics for nearly 6 years now, and I have tutored both of these subjects for nearly 5 years. My experience with both learning and teaching math and physics has taught me how to solve questions quickly. This skill is perhaps the most important for getting a high score on the math section of the SAT's. With this skill in mind I have learned how to produce practice problems that can test a student's ability to solve questions quickly.

Trig was my favorite subject to teach at Crafton Hills. Whenever students came in for help with trig, I was so happy. We didn't receive much training for this subject, but I spent a lot of my own time studying the subject. This payed off. In calculus and physics, we spend a lot of time rewriting expressions using trig functions to solve problems. Also, most physical phenomena behave wavelike and, therefore, can be described using trigonometry.
