About Justin

**Currently serving CPA Exam Candidates only**

I specialize in the field of accounting and CPA exam preparation techniques to improve concentration, memory, and mostly increase knowledge in the wide and deep material being covered on the CPA exam. I have taught accounting professionally at the university level at two universities, (UIC 2009 & UCLA Extension 2013 – Present). In-between my two teaching careers I worked for over 300 companies in a variety of different accounting and finance roles. My experience in business as a CPA has excellent synergy with my educator qualifications. I often relate real business stories with the material being lectured, which both improves students' intuition and makes memorizing concepts easier.

The content I teach is of the finest quality, and is both up-to-date and complete. I work with students through lectures and thousands of targeted problems. In addition to teaching content, my primary intentions in every lesson are: to enable the student to feel like the experience is personal, relevant, and empowering; to guide him or her to discovery by training the mind to be open, flexible, and mostly to develop critical reasoning skills necessary to work through business problems both abstract and unfamiliar.

Some Background Stories:

Initially in college I had zero study skills. I struggled until I started taking business classes where my intuition bloomed beautifully. When I found my business calling, I also learned excellent study skills and habits from friends in classes. I made the Dean’s List throughout the last half of my education. I was in the academic honor society for accounting students, known as Beta Alpha Psi. I served as the Finance Committee Director for Beta Alpha Psi for two semesters.

Despite being a rebel to authority for my entire life, many of my professors liked me and I was selected to be a Teaching Assistant for the Accounting Department during my graduate degree in accounting. The capstone of my education was becoming a CPA. Through techniques passed on to me from Alum of my school, I learned how to pass the CPA exam, and indeed I did pass the CPA exam. I passed AUD, FAR, REG, and BEC on the first try… In fact, I scored mid-eighties on all sections, and considering only 30%-40% of people score above 75, I think I did OK.

I currently enjoy passing-on my knowledge to my students. I get great reviews on sites like ratemyprofessor.com and wyzant.com. Although I get great reviews, every student I’ve worked with has been my teacher as well. I look forward to meeting you soon.
