About Welby

Good day,

I have a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California, Riverside. I currently work (full-time) as a college retention coordinator for the Wonderful Company at Cal State, Bakersfield. I have been tutoring and mentoring students for (going on) 5 years.

I am very patient and work diligently with my students to achieve success. I am very comfortable in tutoring math and science ( calculus, algebra, chemistry, biology, etc.) My tutoring specialty lies in calculus and chemistry. I can assist with all areas of academics, ranging from test preparations to homework to course enrichment.

I have taken numerous advanced placement classes in high school and received passing scores on all my exams. I have taken and passed biology, English literature, English composition, chemistry, calculus ab, European history, and U.S. history. I am very comfortable in tutoring any students who need help with these sort of exams, including the SAT and ACT.

My tutoring style revolves around teaching students the reasons and whys behind concepts and questions. I enjoy teaching students how to critically reason and think through a question, instead of memorizing questions and answers. By knowing the reasons behind these concepts, it will allow students to create a firm foundation from which their future academics will be able to be built upon.

I offer in-person tutoring, as well as, online tutoring. The rate listed is for in-person tutoring. The rate for online tutoring is significantly reduced because commuting time is no longer a part of the equation.

That is a little about me. I hope that am the right fit for your needs. Thank you.
