I am a 2017 graduate of UC Irvine. I graduated as a magna cum laude and received the Tierney Scholarship during my time at UCI. I currently study with Professor Nina Scolnik, a Juilliard graduate and excellent pedagogue. I feel inspired to be learning with her. I transferred from Pasadena City College and am pursuing my BA in Music. My career goals are to get my Master's Degree in Piano Pedagogy and Credential for teaching Suzuki Method, teaching privately and in schools, and some accompanying or chamber work. I really want to thank my college music professors who have helped me become a better performer and teacher.
I currently teach fifteen students, most of whom are 7 and under. I have 4 years experience teaching piano. I love to teach and find new ways to become a better teacher. But mostly, I like the bond that a good teacher can give their student.
I have won several awards at Pasadena City College. I was an honors student in the entire music program and I won the Piano Accompanying Award and the Robert Westerbeck Scholarship. At PCC, I studied with Dr. Cynthia Williams, Dr. Philip Young and Dr. Linda Zoolalian, all world-famous professors from USC, New England Conservatory, UCLA, and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.
I work to make music fun and rewarding to my students. I love to see their satisfaction when they play a piece beautifully. Then I congratulate them and let them know that THEY played the piece so well!
I started piano when I was six years old and never looked back. But college really made me realize that music is what I want to do.
I speak English and Mandarin Chinese. I am a member of CAPMT and MTNA. FREE 1/2 Hour TRIAL LESSON!! Contact me if interested.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a piano major who is transferring from Pasadena City College to UCI in the fall. I currently teach seven students, most of whom are 10 and under. I place a big emphasis on note reading and seeing bigger shapes than note by note. I also include technic in every lesson.
I love music and like to pass on that love of music to others!
