UC Santa Barbara (English)
Hello! My name is Caitlyn, and I am a college graduate with a double major in Film/Media studies and English language/literature. I tutored several students during my undergraduate education, helping them achieve great overall grades and perfect their academic and creative writing skills. I am a firm believer that everyone is capable of amazing things in academia.
I love tutoring, because I thrive on knowing that I am helping students be the best that they can be. I enjoy reading and writing, as well as thinking critically, and I especially love helping others learn. I can't wait to forge new relationships here on Wyzant!
I have a subject GPA of 3.9 in my English language classwork at UC Santa Barbara, and have recently graduated with two bachelors degrees. Having taken the ACT and SAT myself recently, I am equipped to help other student study for and pass these exams. I worked as a freelance writer for over five years for international and domestic clients, as well; therefore, I am prepared to tutor those who need help with proofreading, general writing at both the high school and collegiate levels, and even reading comprehension/overall literacy.
I am thrilled to be working here on Wyzant, and I encourage you to message me if you are interested in working with me. I respond to all messages in a timely manner, and I am willing to work with all schedules to find a time that works for everyone involved. Thank you! Hello! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have recently graduated from UC Santa Barbara with two bachelors degrees in the humanities. I have assisted several students in planning their coursework, and I have regularly planned my own units for the four years in which I was enrolled. I am familiar with how to apply for universities, as I applied to over ten before accepting the offer from UCSB.
