Fight on everyone! After graduating from USC with my BA in psychology, I became an EMT and fell in love with medicine. Since then, I have been taking post-bac courses all over Southern California and I will be applying to medical school this coming Spring 2017. I am a current EMT for a 911 standby company and I tutor college students in human anatomy and human physiology at Santiago Canyon College.
I am passionate about learning and I enjoy sharing that knowledge with others. My strengths include human anatomy, physiology, general chemistry, and biochemistry. I have taken many science courses through UCLA extension, Cal State Fullerton, and several local community colleges.
My tutoring style includes detail clarification through small lectures, self-made activities and handouts to practice material, and self-made games to help students apply the material. I believe a full rounded teaching approach that includes visual, listening and hands-on styles helps students learn the material the best.
I am a current tutor for Santiago Canyon College in Human Anatomy & Human Physiology. I have a science GPA of 3.85. Courses I have taken include: general biology, microbiology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, specific physiology courses (oncology, endocrinology, pathophysiology, cardiovascular pathophysiology, exercise physiology), general chemistry, organic chemistry, kinesiology classes (nutrition, ethics, health), math (statistics & calculus).
Please feel free to ask about my personal experiences as a post-bac student in the pre-med world! We may all have different routes, but we all share the same passion...learning!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
