Hello! My name is Andreina, and my passion has always been to work with children. However, it does not stop there. I recognize that caring for children starts with building strong relationships because it influences the child's motivation and self-esteem to become successful. I want children to grow up to be confident in themselves so that they can view learning as fun and necessary to be successful in their education and later in their life.
I currently work at a private elementary school as their Learning Support Coordinator, and as an aid for special needs. I have worked at this institution for 3 years, and started as an intern. Additionally, I have worked with children for 12 years and have accumulated over thousands of hours of volunteer work (CHOC children's hospital, Jumpstart, Advocacy Centers, and other healthcare settings).
Working with students has grown to be a passion I am determined to be committed to them. As someone that struggled in school when younger, I realize the hardships students may go through when they are not performing at their best. Understanding the whole child, which includes their social, emotional, and developmental status, will help me organize and implement a plan that is unique to the child's needs and promote success.
I struggled with reading when learning English as my second language, however, that didn't stop me. I took tutoring and independently worked on my own as a young child at home. Now, I love reading! Showing your child that reading is fun and possible will promote their success.
I have taken many courses that focuses on language and reading development. I currently work with students that struggle with reading from grades K-3rd.
My Master's in Child Development umbrellas the developing child and how that may influence their learning. Understanding the developmental status of the child helps to identify their strengths, limitations, and how to exceed those limits while being supportive.
Personally, my educational career has been successful because of my ability to plan, organize, and remain motivated. I have helped students by equipping them with strong organizational skills and how to study for tests, which has improved their results.
Please, give me the honor to prove to your child that they can do whatever they put their mind to, and will overcome everything that crosses their path.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have received my Master's in CHILD Development, which equips me with skills to provide meaningful and developmental appropriate learning for students. I have 10 years of experience of working with students in the elementary age. I am currently an aide for a child of special needs, and the learning support coordinator. This title holds me responsible to provide teaching and learning experiences that promotes academic, social, and emotional success in their environment.
As the Learning Support and Child Development coordinator at my current job, I have been successful in helping students gain organizational and study skills to succeed (K-8th grade).
