UCLA (Spanish community)
I have tutored since high school in all subjects. I also tutored in college helping out at a center that helps low income Hispanic students. Here I tutored elementary students. I also tutored and was a TA for a kindergarten class.
Additionally, while getting into UCLA, I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus test (the highest score) and received A's on the calculus classes I took at UCLA. Math is my favorite subject to tutor in.
I also scored a 4 on the English AP test and took a writing 2 class, where I also received an A.
In my major of Spanish, Community and Culture, not only did I learn about the language and writing but also about how to tailor education to the different cultures that exist in the United States.
Lastly, my last quarter at UCLA I took an upper division education class where I learned the new ways that curriculum is changing for K-12 and how to apply different strategies to best teach and tutor students.
I received a 5 on the AP Calculus test and A's on the calculus classes taken at UCLA, and my recommendation for UCLA came from my high school calculus teacher where I was ranked number 1. I have excelled in algebra, which is the basis that helps you understand precalculus and calculus.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
