Let me help you improve your language skills! I've been teaching English and TOEFL prep to a broad range of students for the past 8 years. I have a lot of experience working with Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese speakers studying English. I love teaching English grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and speaking/pronunciation at all levels. As a graduate of the UC Berkeley Linguistics department, I have dedicated myself to the art of language learning and helping others speak better English every day.
After meeting a student, I pinpoint their language difficulties and create material that is personalized for each student's particular problems. I try to include exercises on topics that are interesting for the student in order to make the learning process more enjoyable. Each lesson includes a short quiz on the material covered in the previous lesson to ensure progress is being made.
I am very flexible with time, so if you need to cancel, please let me know 6 hours or more ahead of time. That way, you won't be billed.
I teach an intensive TOEFL class every day until 2:30pm, after which I am available for tutoring. You can come to my house, or I am willing to travel to yours.
I look forward to meeting and working with you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
