Hello! My name is Rachel. I am from the US. My experience teaching English spreads to all age groups, with an array of different backgrounds. This includes helping an eight year old with their speech struggles, and also includes explaining complex grammar processes to an adult looking to perfect their fluency. I have experience tutoring English as a foreign language in person as well as online. My specialties include speech improvement, sentence structure, vocabulary expansion, grammar, and conversational practice. My goal is to help students improve their writing and speaking skills to their greatest level possible. I know that language learning is not always easy, and I am here to help.
Along with a degree in Humanities and Arts from my college, I also have my TEFL Certificate and TEFL-TP Certificate. This means I was trained specifically to help you! In my training I was taught which parts of English learning tends to be the most difficult for foreign language speakers, as well as creating scenarios and conversations to make students feel comfortable and confident when speaking this new language. TEFL-TP refers to teaching English through theater and play, which I like to implement into my lessons.
I consider Spanish my second language. I speak and use it every day. I have also studied Spanish for years in school. Being that I have studied it and now speak it as a second language, I can help others who are studying Spanish, as I am familiar with verb conjugations and grammar rules. Along with the complex grammar that Spanish has, I incorporate a lot of conversational practice in my classes, as I think that is one of the most important parts in language learning.
I also speak Italian. I studied the language for years and currently live in Italy where I speak it everyday. I can help make sense of grammar concepts that you are unfamiliar with as well as provide conversational practice.
Reach out to me if you have any questions! I'm looking forward to hearing how I can help you improve.
